Trains to Crosskeys

Crosskeys railway station sits along the Ebbw Valley Railway just a few miles north west of Newport in Wales. The present station was opened in 2008 just a little further down the tracks from the original which closed down 40 years earlier. It’s a two-platform station which, along with the trains that pass by, is managed by Arriva Trains Wales. It’s well placed for exploring town and accessing the local college. Facilities include a footbridge connecting the platforms, a digital display, a passenger announcement system, and shelters on both sides of the tracks. It’s a busy commuter station with an hourly direct service to Cardiff Central in 32 minutes and Ebbw Vale Town in 29 minutes. 

Crosskeys might be small, but you’ve got plenty to do near the station. Take the kids down to Waunfawr Park for a picnic, shoot pool at the Red Triangle Snooker Club, or catch one of the games at the Cross Keys Rugby Football Club.
