Coulsdon South station serves the district of Coulsdon in the London Borough of Croydon, lying on the Brighton Main Line within Travelcard Zone 6. The station, which opened in 1889, is one of a number that have served the relatively small suburb - the wonderfully named Stoat's Nest and Stoat's Nest for Coulsdon and Cane Hill have sadly closed, though Coulsdon Town is still open.
The station's services run to Little Hampton and Horsham, but it is principally a commuter station, taking locals to London Bridge and London Victoria in around half an hour.
Just to the east of the station is the Coulsdon Memorial Park, an area of green open space with a cafe and several picnic spots. North of the park is a cluster of small shops and restaurants, but to reach Coulsdon's main commercial area you'll need to head up Brighton Road from the station. It's a walk of around ten minutes.
