Aberdour Train Station was opened in 1890 by North British Railway, as part of the line linking Edinburgh to the new Forth Rail Bridge. Is is now a part of the Fife Circle Line and serves the small historic town of Aberdour. The fastest service to Edinburgh takes just 35 minutes, and Kirkcaldy can be reached In 13 minutes.

Aberdour station was once the location of a camping coach, which served as accommodation for travellers and visitors to the area. The station’s redundant signal box has been lovingly converted to a private artists’ studio and its well-tended flower beds have won attention and acclaim with several ‘best kept station’ awards. Aberdour train station is now home to the Aberdour Heritage Centre which celebrates the history of the stations award winning gardens.

There are two platforms, where trains from Aberdour to Kirkcaldy and Edinburgh stop twice an hour on weekdays, and once hourly during the evenings and on Sundays. Tickets can be purchased from the desk or collected from the ticket machine at Platform One, where there are also male and female toilets facilities. Platform Two is accessed by a footbridge over the railway or from a ramped entrance point on Main Street. The station sits close to the A921 and is within walking distance of the town and local shops. There is car parking and a bus stop close to the main station entrance.
