thetrainline.com has an exclusive Business Account discount to help our charity customers save money on their rail spend.

Registered charities that are 10% or more voluntarily funded can receive a 20% discount on all Virgin Trains Advance tickets.

To apply for this discount, open a Business Account and email us at charitydiscount@thetrainline.com, making sure you provide the following:

  1. Your thetrainline account business ID
  2. Your charity registration number
  3. A notice of compliance OR a link to the Charities Commission website, see below.

Charities with annual income under £500k

You will need to provide a notice of compliance, from the organisation's Financial Director or equivalent, stating that the Charity is 10% voluntarily funded.

This certification will need to be repeated every 2 years.

You will need to provide the link to your charity's page on the Charities Commission website (Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator website for Scottish charities) showing your organisation's income status.
