Trains depart from Edinburgh Waverley Station to London Kings Cross around twice per hour. The trip takes roughly five hours, with most direct routes provided by East Coast Trains. Grand Central, CrossCountry and Virgin Trains offer indirect routes to London from Edinburgh.
East Coast Trains provide restaurant car service on some trains from Edinburgh to London; light snacks, sandwiches and beverages are available on most other journeys. Wireless internet connections are available for a small additional fee, and cycle storage is available free with an advance reservation.
Certain parts of the journey provided by Grand Central and include free wireless internet access as part of the standard array of services.
